You need permission to update work orders. Owners, Admins, and Members have it by default.

Record parts used

If you used parts or materials from inventory, record them on the work order. This takes the stock out of inventory and tracks the cost against the work order.
1

Open the work order

In the sidebar, under Maintenance, click Work Orders, then click the work order.
2

Add parts

In the Parts card, click Add Parts.
3

Fill in the details

  • Item — search by name, SKU, or barcode
  • Storage Location — where the stock was taken from. Only locations with stock are listed.
  • Quantity — how many you used
  • Notes — any extra details (optional)
4

Save

Click Add Parts.
The Parts card lists each part with its type, quantity, location, cost, who recorded it, and when.

Return unused parts

Click Return Parts in the Parts card. Select the part, the Storage Location to return it to, and the Quantity. You can return parts to any location, not just the one they came from. Return Parts is available only after parts have been added.

Mark the work order as completed

1

Click Update Status

Click Update Status at the top of the work order.
2

Select Completed

Under New Status, select Completed.
3

Document the work (optional)

Add Notes to describe what you did. Click Take Photo, Record Video, or Browse Files to attach “after” photos or receipts.
4

Save

Click Update Status.
Relyant records the completion date, which appears as Completed in the Work Order Details card. The assignee gets an email about the status change.
If someone needs to check the work first, set the status to In Review, then move it to Completed once it’s approved.

Ratings

If Enable Work Order Ratings is turned on in work order settings, the requester can rate completed work:
  • If the work order came from a maintenance request, the completion email includes a link to rate the work.
  • When the requester opens a completed work order that hasn’t been rated, Relyant asks them for a rating. They can also click Add Rating in the Rating card.
Requesters can’t rate work orders that are assigned to themselves. See Reviews to see all ratings in one place.
