You need permission to update work orders. Owners, Admins, and Members have it by default.

Statuses

There is no fixed order. You can move a work order from any status to any other status.

Steps

1

Open the work order

In the sidebar, under Maintenance, click Work Orders, then click the work order.
2

Click Update Status

Click Update Status at the top of the work order.
3

Choose the new status

Under New Status, select a status.
4

Add notes and files (optional)

Add Notes to explain the change, for example “Waiting on replacement part”. You can also click Take Photo, Record Video, or Browse Files to attach files.
5

Save

Click Update Status.
The status change appears in the work order’s Activity log with your name and the time. Any notes and files you added appear under Comments, tagged with the status.
You can save notes or files without changing the status. They appear under Comments, tagged with the current status.

What happens when the status changes

  • The assignee gets an email about the status change.
  • When you set Completed, Relyant records the completion date. If you later move the work order out of Completed, the completion date is cleared.
  • When you set Canceled, the assignee and the requester get a cancellation notice.
  • If the work order came from a maintenance request, the person who submitted the request gets an email about each status change and each new note.
