Required permission: access to Events settings. Owners, admins, and the Events manager role have it.
To open settings, click Settings in the Events sidebar. The settings menu lists each page below. Click Back to Events to return.

General

Defaults for new events and checkout:
  • Default time zone — the time zone new events start with
  • Default max tickets per order — leave as No limit, or set a cap
  • Checkout hold — how long tickets stay reserved while a buyer pays
  • Refund policy — shown to buyers at checkout

Public page

Your school’s public events page, where every published event goes on sale.
  • Page is live — when off, the address shows nothing and no one can buy from it. Events can’t be published until it’s on.
  • Page address — the link for your page, using 2–40 letters, numbers, or dashes
  • Page title and About, a short welcome shown above your events
  • Contact email and Contact WhatsApp, shown as the organiser contact on every event
  • Show past events — lists finished events under the upcoming ones
Click Copy link to share the page, or Preview to open it.

Payments

Events uses the same payment setup as Sell. Turn on each method you want to offer for tickets:
  • Payment provider — connect your provider, then turn on Use HitPay for event tickets. Copy the Webhook URL into your provider dashboard so payments confirm instantly. Online payments confirm and issue tickets automatically.
  • Manual payments — turn on the switch for each method you want buyers to use, such as a bank transfer or QR method. Set Hold tickets for to choose how long a manual order keeps its places while you wait for payment. Click Edit methods in Sell to change bank details, QR images, or proof requirements.
Paid tickets need at least one method switched on for Events before you can publish.

Custom fields

Your library of registration questions, such as student name and class, dietary needs, or photo consent. Click New field and set the Question, Type, whether it’s Asked Once per order or Once per attendee, and optional Help text. You can also choose Required by default, Show to check-in staff, and Include in exports. Add questions to an event from its editor. Archive a question to stop offering it.

Seat charts

Your reusable room layouts for reserved seating. See Reserved seating.

Check-in

How the door station behaves:
  • Default scan mode — Express — check in on scan, or Standard — show details, then confirm. Each station can change it for itself under Scan options.
  • Allow re-entry — let a guest’s ticket be scanned again when they come back in
  • Sound on scan — a short tone for success and a different one for problems

Notifications

  • Sender name — the name ticket emails come from
  • Reminder the day before — emails ticket holders the day before the event
