With reserved seating, buyers pick their own seat on a chart, and each ticket carries its seat, such as Centre · C · 12. You draw a room once as a seat chart, then reuse it for every event held there.
Required permission: managing seat charts needs access to Events settings. Setting up an event’s seats needs permission to edit events.

Draw a seat chart

1

Open Seat charts

Go to Settings › Seat charts and click New seat chart.
2

Name it

Name it after the room, such as School hall or Gym, then click Create and draw. New charts start from a school hall layout: a stage, a centre block, left and right wings, and an entrance label.
3

Lay out the room

Click + at the bottom of the chart to add a Section, an Area, or a Label. An area is a labelled space with no seats, such as a control booth, bar, or dance floor. Click an item on the chart or in the Layout list to open its properties. For each section, set its Name, Rows, Seats per row, and numbering: Row labels (A, B, C… or 1, 2, 3…), First row, Seat numbers (left to right or right to left), and Start at. Use the − and + buttons or the arrow keys to change sizes. Give the Stage or an area a Colour if you like. To move an item, drag it with the Select tool or use the arrow keys. Close the properties with ✕, Esc, or a click on empty space.
4

Add price categories

Under Price categories, add up to eight categories, such as Premium and Standard. Use the Paint tool to click or drag across seats, a row letter, or a section name to set their category. Prices are set per event, not on the chart.
5

Mark gaps and held seats

Use Remove seat for pillars or gaps. Numbering skips removed seats. Use Not for sale to keep seats, such as house seats, off sale by default.
6

Save

Click Save chart.
Drag empty space to pan, and pinch or Ctrl + scroll to zoom. Click Fit to screen to see the whole chart. Press Cmd/Ctrl + Z to undo, and Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Z or Ctrl + Y to redo. Click Preview to see the chart as buyers will, and hover a seat to see the name printed on its ticket. Seat charts are edited on a larger screen. On a phone, you see a preview. From the Seat charts list, you can Duplicate a chart to make a variation, or archive charts you no longer use.

Use a chart for an event

1

Switch to reserved seats

In the event editor, under Seating, choose Reserved seats.
2

Pick the chart

Choose a Seat chart. Click Preview to see the map.
3

Set prices

Under Prices, enter a price for each category. Leave 0 for free seats.
The event gets its own copy of the chart, so editing the chart later won’t change it. The chart locks after the first sale. A category’s price locks once one of its seats is sold. Max seats per order limits how many seats one buyer can pick.

Manage an event’s seats

The event’s Seats tab shows every seat as a Chart or a List, with each seat’s status: Available, In checkout, Sold, or Blocked. Sold seats show the guest and order. Search by seat, guest, or order, or filter by section, category, and status. To change seats in bulk, drag a box, click a row letter, or click seats to select them. Then:
  • Change category — move unsold seats to another price category
  • Block — take seats off sale
  • Unblock — put blocked seats back on sale
The seat shows on each guest’s ticket and order page, at check-in, and in the guest list export.
