Required role: Owner or Admin. Saving labels requires permission to update students.
Labels let you classify records in ways that suit your school. Labels are organized into groups: a group is the category, and its labels are the values. For example, a House group might contain House A and House B. The Settings sidebar has three label pages under Labels: All three pages work the same way.
Behaviour labels and support note labels live in Wellbeing settings. The Behavior Labels card on the Labels page opens them there. See Wellbeing settings.

Create a label group

1

Open the label page

Go to Settings and click Student Labels, Class Labels, or Attachment Labels.
2

Add a group

Click Add Group, enter a Group Name (for example, House), and save.
3

Add labels to the group

Under the group, click Add label. Enter a Label Name (for example, House A), pick a Color, and save. Repeat for each label.
Changes save right away, and you see Saved.

Edit labels

Click the pencil icon next to a group or label to rename it. You can also change a label’s color.

Delete a group or label

Click the trash icon next to a group or label and confirm. Deleting can’t be undone. For student labels, Relyant first checks how many students use the label or group and shows the count in the confirmation. Those students are unassigned from the label when you delete it.
Deleting a group deletes every label in it. For student labels, check the student count in the confirmation dialog before you continue.

Where labels appear

  • Student labels — assign them on student records and use them to filter the student list.
  • Class labels — assign them to a class with Manage Labels. Each group offers its labels plus None.
  • Attachment labels — categorize files on a student’s attachments tab.

Assign student labels and manage attachments.
