Purchase requests (PRs) are the first step in buying something new. You describe what you need, an approver reviews it, and approved items become a purchase order for a supplier. To open it, in the left sidebar, click Purchase Requests under Requests.

How purchase requests flow

  1. You create a purchase request with one or more line items and submit it for approval.
  2. An approver approves or rejects it from the request or from Approvals.
  3. Someone with permission to create purchase orders converts the approved items into a purchase order.
  4. When the ordered goods are received, you mark the request completed.

Purchase request statuses

Find requests

Use the All and Created by Me tabs at the top of the list. You can also search, filter by status and created date, or click a count in the status row to show one status, such as Submitted or Approved.
Requesters and members can create, edit, and delete their own purchase requests. Approving needs the Owner or Admin role, a custom role with approve permission, or being named as an approver by a workflow. Converting to a purchase order needs permission to create purchase orders.
