Who can mark attendance: Owners and Admins can mark any class. Teachers, Requesters, and custom roles with attendance edit permission can only mark classes they’re actively assigned to. Other classes show a lock icon and open as view only. See Roles and permissions.
Statuses
Each status belongs to a category that decides how it counts in reports. New organizations start with Present, Late, Sick, Excused, Absent, and Early Leave. Admins can add, reorder, and archive statuses in Attendance settings. A student with no record on a school day is Untracked. Relyant doesn’t assume untracked students were present.Choose a day
- In the rail, click Attendance, then Attendance in the panel. The page opens on today.
- Use the arrows or the date picker to change the day. The arrows skip weekends and holidays and stop at today, and the date picker doesn’t offer future dates. When you’re on another day, click Today to jump back. Dates are limited to the academic year selected in the year picker.
Find the students to mark
The status counts row at the top shows how many students are To mark and how many have each status. Click a status to list only those students, grouped by grade or class, then search by name. Click a student to open their profile. Click the status again to clear the filter. Below it, switch between By Grade and By Class. You can search, filter classes by Grade, and sort by name or % Present. Each row shows:- Marked — how many students are marked out of the total, and how many are left to mark, or Complete.
- A bar split by status, so you can see the mix at a glance.
- Present — the share of the whole group marked present or late. Unmarked students count as not present, so a half-marked class reads about 50%. A dash means nothing is marked yet.
