The attendance report totals attendance by category over a date range. Use it to spot students with frequent absences, compare classes, or share figures with your team.
Any role that can view attendance can open the report. By default, that’s every built-in role. The report covers every class in your school.

Open the report

In the rail, click Attendance, then Reports in the panel. The same report also appears on the Attendance tab of Insights. See Insights.

Set the date range

The report opens on This Month. Open the date range menu to choose Today, This Week, This Year, Academic Year, or Custom. For Custom, set the From and To dates. A range can be up to 400 days. If it extends outside the selected academic year, a warning appears. The report never counts days after today. Under the filters, it shows the dates it actually counted, marked (to date) when the range runs past today, and the number of school days.

Read the summary

Two cards come first:
  • Attendance rate — present and late days as a share of marked days. Days nobody marked don’t lower it.
  • Coverage — how many of the school days in the range were marked, for example “450 of 500 days marked”. If less than 90% of days were marked, the card turns amber and a warning says the attendance rate may be unreliable.
The other cards count days by category: Percentages on Present, Late, Excused, and Unexcused are shares of marked days. Not marked and the other day counts have no percentage. Not marked days only count school days from your school calendar. They start from each student’s enrollment date, so weekends, holidays, and days before a student enrolled don’t count.

Break down the results

Switch between By Student, By Class, and By Grade. Each tab shows how many rows it has. The Rate column shows each row’s attendance rate. Category cells show a count, with the share of that row’s marked days for the four marked categories.
  • Click a student row to open the student’s profile.
  • Click a class row to open the class.
To narrow the rows:
  • Search… matches student, class, or grade names.
  • Classes limits the report to the classes you pick.
  • Status shows only rows with at least one record in the categories you pick.

Export or print

  • Download CSV saves the rows you’re viewing, plus a Total row, as attendance-report-<from>-to-<to>.csv. Each value has its own cell, with separate columns for counts and percentages, plus Attendance rate (%), Marked days, and Coverage (%).
  • Download PDF saves the report as a PDF.
  • Print opens the PDF in a new tab and starts printing.
For one class, open the class and click its Attendance tab. It shows the same categories for that class, starting with the full academic year, and has its own Print button.
