Required role: Technicians can add notes and files to assigned work orders. Admins and Managers can do so for any work order.

Add a note

Open the work order

In Maintenance → Work Orders, click the relevant work order.

Go to the Notes tab

Click the Notes or Activity tab on the work order detail page.

Write your note

Type your note in the text field. Notes are useful for progress updates, observations, or communication between team members.

Post

Click Post Note. The note will appear in the activity timeline with your name and a timestamp.

Attach a file

Open the work order

Click the relevant work order in Maintenance → Work Orders.

Go to the Files tab

Click the Files or Attachments tab.

Upload

Click Upload and select a file from your device. Supported formats include images (JPG, PNG), PDFs, and other documents.

Add a label (optional)

Add a description to the file (e.g., “Before photo”, “Repair invoice”).

Save

The file is automatically saved and attached to the work order.

Mark the work order as done when the task is finished.
