Use import and export to move support notes and behaviour incidents in and out of Relyant as CSV files. An export uses the same columns as the import template, so you can edit an export and import it again.
You need edit permission for Wellbeing settings and whole-school access to Wellbeing. By default, only owners and members with the Academic admin Education role have it. Teachers who only reach their assigned classes can’t import or export.

Open the menu

In the left rail, click Wellbeing, then Support notes or Behaviour. Click the … button next to New note or Log incident to see:
  • Import from CSV — open the import page.
  • Export CSV — download the support notes or behaviour incidents you can open. School leadership gets every record in your school, including private ones.
  • Download template — download a blank CSV with a hint for each column and an example row.

Import records

1

Download the template

On the import page, click Download template. Support notes and behaviour have separate templates.
2

Fill in the template

Add one row per record. Enter dates as YYYY-MM-DD and match each student by their Student ID. See Columns.
3

Upload the file

Click Choose a CSV file. Relyant accepts CSV files up to 10 MB and checks the file without importing anything.
4

Review the preview

The preview shows how many records are ready, how many were already imported and will be skipped, and how many have problems. A table lists each problem by row and column. Fix them in your file and click Choose another file.
5

Import

Click the import button, for example Import 25 support notes. When it finishes, you see how many records were imported and skipped.
Files with more than 500 records import in the background. You can leave the page, and you receive a summary email when the import is done.

What an import does

  • No alerts or notifications. Imported records don’t trigger severity alerts or assignment notifications.
  • Class at the time. Each student’s class is filled in from the record’s date. If a student had no class enrollment on that date, the preview warns you and the record imports without a class. To file old records under classes, import past enrollments first.
  • No duplicates. Rows whose ref was already imported are skipped, so you can safely re-run a file.
  • Author. recorded_by takes a staff email. If it’s blank, you’re recorded as the author. If the email doesn’t match a staff member, the name is added to the end of the record’s text.

Undo an import

On the result screen, click Undo import, then confirm. Everything the import created moves to Recently deleted. You can import the same file again afterwards.
