# Add a Building

> Create a top-level location in your organization's hierarchy

  **Required role:** **Admin** or **Manager**

Buildings are the top level of Relyant's location hierarchy. Add a building for each physical structure in your campus or organization.

## Steps

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to Locations">
    In the left sidebar, click **Locations**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Add Building">
    Click the **Add Building** button in the top-right corner.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter building details">
    Fill in:

    * **Name** — the name of the building (e.g., "Main Campus", "Science Block")
    * **Address** — the physical address (optional)
    * **Description** — any additional notes about the building (optional)
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save**. The building will appear in your Locations list.
  </Step>
