# Celebrations

> See today's and upcoming birthdays and work anniversaries, celebrated automatically with points

The **Celebrations** page shows birthdays and work anniversaries across your organization. When automatic celebrations are on, the app posts a message for each occasion and awards points from your workspace.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Every member role can view **Celebrations**. Owners and Admins turn automatic celebrations on and set the points and messages in [Settings](https://docs.relyant.app/hris/settings.md#celebrations).

## What you see

| Section | What it shows |
| - | - |
| **Today** | Birthdays and work anniversaries happening today, marked **Celebrated** once they've been posted |
| **Coming up** | Occasions in the next 30 days, grouped by month |
| **Recent celebrations** | Celebrations that have already been posted |
| **Birthdays** and **Anniversaries** | A list of upcoming occasions you can narrow to **Today**, **This week**, or **This month** |

Each occasion shows the points awarded, when points are turned on for that type.

## How occasions are found

* **Birthdays** come from the birthday on each member's profile.
* **Work anniversaries** use the member's start date. If no start date is set, the date they joined the organization is used. An anniversary only appears once at least one full year has passed.
* A February 29 birthday or anniversary is celebrated on February 28 in non-leap years.
* Deactivated members are left out.

Celebration points are added to each member's **earnings**, so they count toward the leaderboard alongside peer recognition.

## Add your birthday

If you haven't set your birthday, an **Add your birthday** card appears at the top of the page.

**1. Open your profile**

On the **Add your birthday** card, click **Update profile**.

**2. Enter your birthday**

Add your birthday to your profile and save it. Your birthday then appears in **Celebrations**.

> [!TIP]
>
> If you don't want to add a birthday, click **Dismiss** to hide the card.
